A boy and a girl drowned in Lake Hughes and authorities Tuesday are investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives responded at 6:55 p.m. Monday to the 43100 block of Lake Hughes Road in the Angeles National Forest, northwest of Palmdale, where the victims were found near a pond, said Ronald Rodil of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Both victims were taken to a hospital where the boy was pronounced dead on Monday, Rodil said.
Fox 11 reported the girl died Tuesday morning and that the two were siblings.
The investigation is ongoing.
