Five people were arrested during a driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint in Menifee, including one person who was in possession of a gun, police said Sunday.
The checkpoint was held between 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday at Highway 74 and Palomar Road, according to the Menifee Police Department.
Four people were arrested for impaired driving while 29 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with an invalid driver’s license, police said.
Another person — whose identity was not disclosed by authorities — was arrested for allegedly possessing a revolver and illegal drugs.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
