A tree fell onto an apartment building in Hollywood early Wednesday, and while no injuries were reported, hundreds of people in the area were left without power for several hours.
The tree came down about 4:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Ivar Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The tree struck the apartment building and damaged some parked cars.
No one was hurt, and there was no fire, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The toppled tree, however, brought down some Los Angeles Department of Water and Power electrical lines. About 840 DWP customers lost power, the DWP reported.
Utility crews restored power at about 9:45 a.m., the DWP said.
The Los Angeles Department of Public Works and the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety were notified.
