A 32-year-old man remained jailed Sunday after being arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that took place two years ago in Moreno Valley.
The shooting occurred on June 7, 2020 outside an apartment in the 24000 block of Myers Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, 43-year-old Kevin Henderson, lived in the apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect fled the area before deputies arrived, sheriff’s officials said.
Darnell Frederick Tate was arrested Friday for his alleged involvement in the shooting, though authorities did not disclose what charges he might face.
Riverside Police Department investigators said they had received tips that the vehicle and driver involved in the Moreno Valley shooting were also involved in a fatal shooting at Bordwell Park in Riverside in December 2020, which killed Cedric Omarr Dempsey, 32.
Police described the suspect vehicle as an early 2000s, four-door Cadillac with large aftermarket 10-spoke wheels.
Investigators believe there are outstanding suspects in both cases.
