A 36-year-old man suspected of stealing thousands of dollars in agricultural and other equipment from Norco businesses was behind bars Wednesday.

Juan Ayala Flores of Anaheim was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center Tuesday on suspicion of grand theft and receiving stolen property. Flores was being held on $10,000 bail.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Aaron Avila, on the night of April 18, Flores allegedly forced his way into a closed business in the 1100 block of Sixth Street, near Corona Avenue.

The suspect snatched agricultural gear and items used for animal husbandry, then fled, Avila said.

Flores is also suspected of breaking into other businesses in the same general area, stealing unspecified property, Avila said.

Detectives ultimately identified him as the alleged thief and served a search warrant at a house in the 4100 block of Hillside Avenue in Norco, where $6,500 in stolen merchandise connected to the thefts was seized, according to Avila.

Flores was taken into custody without incident at the location.

Background information on Flores was not available.
