A man who allegedly led deputies on a pursuit from Rancho Mirage to Palm Desert before being arrested remained jailed Sunday without bail.

Deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle belonging to a suspect who had an outstanding warrant for parole violation and was believed to be armed and dangerous at about 1:45 p.m. Friday in Rancho Mirage, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

However, the suspect drove away, eventually crashing at the intersection of Oasis Club and Country Club drives in Palm Desert, authorities said.

The suspect got out of the vehicle and jumped a wall into a residential area where he hid inside a home, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies searched the neighborhood for the suspect, who was eventually located and safely arrested in the 100 block of Azzuro Drive, according to the sheriff’s department.

Daniel Ramirez, 36, of Thermal was arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of violating his parole.

A second man, 29-year-old Saliba Deeb of Palm Desert, was arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of knowingly harboring a fugitive.
