A 61-year-old man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Moreno Valley was publicly identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office Sunday.
The crash occurred at 3:37 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Lasselle Street and Copper Cove Lane, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Isidro Marquez unresponsive in a white Toyota Sienna.
The Moreno Valley resident was taken to Riverside University Health Systems Medical Center, where he later died, according to the coroner’s office.
According to a preliminary investigation, the Toyota was heading southbound on Lasselle when the driver, for an unknown reason, veered into the northbound lanes, colliding with a northbound Ford Escape.
There were no passengers inside either vehicle and the driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.
