Firefighters Tuesday worked to keep a wind-driven fire from spreading beyond one acre.

The blaze was reported at around 6 p.m. Monday at the 66900 block of 20th Avenue in North Palm Springs, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The Cathedral City Fire Department assisted in the mitigation of the fire, which was initially around four acres and about 7 feet deep in some areas of refuse piles and vegetation.

Firefighters worked overnight to keep the fire from spreading and other crews were assigned Tuesday morning to suppress the fire as windy conditions continued.

There were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire was unknown.
