A 47-year-old dance instructor suspected of repeatedly sexually molesting a female student at the Riverside studio where he was giving lessons was released from custody Friday on a $200,000 bond.

Quincy John Jacinto of Moreno Valley was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail Thursday on suspicion of lewd acts on a child, sexual penetration of a minor and oral copulation of a minor.

Jacinto posted bail Friday morning and was released from the downtown jail. He’s tentatively due to make an appearance in Riverside County Superior Court in August, jail records showed. No charges have yet been filed against him.

According to the Riverside Police Department, at the start of the month, a woman contacted detectives regarding alleged sexual abuse she had suffered while a child taking lessons from Jacinto at the Riverside Dance Academy in the 1300 block of Alessandro Boulevard in the previous decade.

It was unclear whether the victim was taking private or group lessons supervised by the suspect.

She said the alleged abuse ended in 2020, according to police spokesman Officer Ryan Railsback.

He said that the Sexual Assault-Child Abuse Unit gathered sufficient evidence to obtain an arrest warrant, which was served on the suspect at his residence, on Acacia Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

SACA detectives are uncertain whether any other girls were targeted by Jacinto, and they’re asking anyone who may have information to contact them at 951-353-7950 or via RPDTips@riversideca.gov.
