A man was stabbed to death in Canoga Park Monday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called about 7 a.m. to the area of Deering Avenue and Gault Street on reports of the stabbing and found the man wounded at the scene, according to a department statement.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the man dead. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man was standing with the suspect and a group of other individuals when he was stabbed. The suspect fled the scene following the stabbing, and authorities have not determined a motive for the attack.
The suspect was described only as a male wearing a blue shirt and a black baseball cap.
