A 28-year-old man and three girls were in custody Tuesday in connection with a shooting and a series of catalytic converter thefts in Jurupa Valley.
Calvin Amir Matthew Polk of Jurupa Valley was booked Monday at the Robert Presley Detention Center for several felonies, said Sgt. Art Mendez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspects attempted to steal catalytic converters from vehicles in the unincorporated areas of El Cerrito and Wildomar on Sunday and also shot at witnesses, according to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team and Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station conducted an investigation that led to the identification of the suspect’s vehicle at a motel in Jurupa Valley and at a traffic stop of the vehicle Monday, leading to Polk’s arrest, Mendez said.
Deputies served search warrants at various motel rooms and the suspect’s vehicle and evidence of catalytic converter thefts and firearm possession was found.
Anyone with additional information regarding this arrest was asked to call Deputy Savage from the Special Enforcement Team at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951-955-2600.
