Two convicted felons were behind bars Thursday for allegedly being in possession of a loaded firearm in Perris.

Amanda Renee Rico, 33, and Richard Pio Rodriguez, 23, were arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of being felons in possession of a firearm and felons in possession of ammunition, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Rodriguez was also arrested on suspicion of violating his parole.

Rico was being held on $10,000 bail and Rodriguez was being held without bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

Riverside County Regional Task Force Region 6 Perris/Lake Elsinore members stopped Rico and Rodriguez in the 200 block of Indian Hills Circle and found that Rico was allegedly driving without a driver’s license and that Rodriguez was on parole, according to authorities.

Task force members asked the two to exit their vehicle, then they searched and allegedly found a loaded 9mm firearm inside, authorities said.
