A fire damaged a single-story commercial building in the El Sereno area Tuesday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters sent to the 5000 block of East Alhambra Avenue at 1:09 p.m. extinguished the flames in 21 minutes, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“There is evidence this is potentially a butane honey oil operation,” Stewart said.
LAFD arson investigators and a hazardous-materials team were sent to the scene, and the Los Angeles Police Department was notified, Stewart said.
