A motorist described as elderly by police escaped with minor injuries after plowing an SUV into a two-story Huntington Beach home, authorities said Saturday.
No one was inside the home at the time of the crash. Paramedics rushed the driver to a hospital with minor injuries, according to a Huntington Beach Police Department watch commander.
The motorist has not been cited or arrested.
“I think it was some sort of medical issue (with the motorist). But I’m not certain about that,” the watch commander said, adding that the home in the 19000 block of McLaren Lane had been red-tagged.
The crash occurred at about 12:15 p.m. Thursday, he said.
A doorbell camera captured the moments the white Jeep Cherokee drove into the house’s carport and inside the structure, according to media reports.
