A Hemet man was arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Cabazon store, authorities said Saturday.
Demon Dennis, 49, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Beaumont Avenue and First Street in Beaumont, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. He was being held on $60,000 bail at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
Dennis is suspected of stealing numerous pairs of designer sunglasses from a business in the 48000 block of Seminole Drive at 3:20 p.m, according to sheriff’s Sgt. James Mills.
“The investigation later revealed Dennis to be the suspect of several additional thefts that had occurred at the business between May of 2022 and July of 2022,” Mills said.
“The stolen merchandise, valued at approximately $10,000, was found on Dennis and recovered,” he said.
