A man was arrested after allegedly using his car to ram sheriff’s vehicles during a pursuit Sunday.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Thermal Station were involved in a vehicle pursuit at 1:25 a.m. Sunday with Jose J. Lopez Jr. in the 47000 block of Indio Boulevard in Indio.
Lopez was allegedly wanted for several felony charges including stalking, domestic violence and criminal threats.
According to deputies, Lopez used his vehicle to ram pursuing sheriff’s vehicles. At the end of the pursuit, Lopez was reported to have lost control of his vehicle and collided with a fence, disabling his vehicle.
Lopez allegedly fled on foot and was arrested with the assistance of a Riverside County Sheriff’s K-9 unit. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evading, stalking, domestic violence and criminal threats.
