A female motorist was airlifted to a trauma center from a vehicle crash that triggered a small wildfire Saturday on Angeles Crest Highway, just north of La Cañada Flintridge.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 9:05 a.m. to the highway at Mile Marker 30.65, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

The vehicle went over the side of the road, igniting a one-acre wildfire that was knocked down at 10 a.m., fire and law enforcement officials said.

The small wildfire was under an inversion on Angeles Crest Highway, according to fire officials.

The motorist’s condition was not immediately available.

The highway remained closed until about 4:30 p.m., when California Highway Patrol officers cleared the scene. However, Caltrans District 7 reported that lanes remained closed between the forest entrance and Angeles Forest Highway as a result of the crash.
