A 42-year-old woman was pronounced dead after colliding with a light pole in Riverside, authorities said Friday.
Police were called around 8:30 p.m. Thursday to the 6400 block of Sycamore Canyon Boulevard regarding a single-vehicle collision, said Sgt. James Elliott of the Riverside Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers and paramedics from the Riverside Fire Department found the driver of a black 2004 Honda Pilot unresponsive after the Honda she was driving left the roadway and crashed into the concrete pole.
The victim was taken to Riverside University Health System Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, said Elliott.
She was identified as Alofa Niusila of Riverside by the Riverside County coroner’s office.
