An 81-year-old man suspected of operating an illegal marijuana cultivation operation at his Moreno Valley property was arrested Wednesday.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputies served a search warrant about 8 a.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 8700 block of Pigeon Pass Road, according to Sgt. Joseph Fitzgerald.
During the execution of the search warrant, deputies discovered evidence of an illegal marijuana cultivation operation including 130 pounds of marijuana packaged for sales, 190 pounds of processed marijuana and 152 mature marijuana plants. Riverside County Animal Services also responded to the scene and evaluated several horses, cows and bulls on the property for neglect.
Calvin Wiekamp was placed under arrest on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales.
