A fire that erupted Monday in a Meadowbrook home injured two people and displaced five.
The blaze was reported about 3:40 p.m. in the 27300 block of Peach Street, just west of Highway 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames in one room of the single-story residence, the department reported.
An adult and a youth suffered moderate injuries after they were exposed to the burning contents, officials said.
The victims were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
Firefighters knocked down the blaze by 4 p.m.
Because of damage to the structure, three adults and two minors were displaced, and Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the victims with finding temporary alternate lodgings, according to the fire department.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
