A 36-year-old Trabuco Canyon man pleaded guilty Monday to exposing himself to 10 girls over a 5-month period in 2018 and was immediately placed on one year of probation.

Travis Benjamin Kaszynski was arrested Sept. 7, 2018, after investigators were able to deduce he was a suspect by checking cellphone tower records in the areas of the reported flashings from February through July 2018, said Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

After the rash of reported flashings to girls 9 and 14 in the Trabuco Canyon and Rancho Santa Margarita areas, investigators began pulling cellphone records in and around the areas of the reported sightings, Braun said.

They cross-checked the numbers until finding a common one in each of the areas at those times, Braun said.

On July 1, 2018, Kaszynski lured a girl from his neighborhood into his garage where he exposed himself, Braun said.

The girl told her parents, who called deputies, Braun said.

Kaszynski pleaded guilty to 10 counts of indecent exposure and nine counts of child annoyance, all misdemeanors. As part of the plea deal he accepted from Orange County Superior Court Judge John Adams a felony count of kidnapping was dismissed along with single misdemeanor counts each of child annoyance and indecent exposure. Prosecutors objected to the plea deal.

Adams sentenced Kaszynski to 180 days in jail but suspended the punishment if the defendant clears probation. He must register as a sex offender for at least 10 years.
