Costa Mesa police are investigating an incident of shots fired outside the South Coast Plaza.

The gunfire took place in the parking lot outside the Nordstrom store around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Costa Mesa police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad.

Responding officers found no one at the scene, and there were no reports of any injuires, Manson told the paper.

Detectives were searching for surveillance video since there were no witnesses police could turn up, Manson said.
