Firefighters stopped a brush fire in Malibu Saturday that spread to at least one acre and had the potential to spread to five areas.

The fire was reported at about 1:30 p.m. in the area of La Tuna Canyon Road and Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Multiple spots were reported burning with winds at 10 mph, fire officials said.

At 2:17 p.m., officials reported forward progress was stopped and the fire was 50% contained by lines of cleared vegetation.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Sigalert at 1:33 p.m. shutting down all eastbound and westbound lanes of PCH at La Tuna Canyon Road due to fire equipment blocking the roadway.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
