A fire at a two-story duplex that left three people temporarily without shelter in East Hollywood was extinguished Tuesday.
Fire crews were called at 3:01 a.m. to 5341 W. Romaine St. between Oxford and Serrano avenues where they encountered flames inside a lower unit of the duplex, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
It took 30 firefighters 16 minutes to put out the flames.
The American Red Cross was notified to assist the three adults who were displaced by the ground-floor unit where the fire was extinguished.
Prange said no other injuries were reported.
