Fire damaged four units of a townhome complex in Van Nuys Friday, displacing an unknown number of residents, but no injuries were reported.
The fire was reported at 3:13 p.m. in a garden-style building in the 7300 block of North Lennox Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Crews on the scene initially reported heavy fire emanating from one unit of the building, but flames ultimately spread “laterally” to three more units and into the building’s attic, fire officials said. Three of the units suffered fire damage, while the fourth was damaged less by fire than by water and smoke.
All occupants of the building were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire, and no word on the amount of damages. The Red Cross responded to assist with displaced residents. It was unclear how many residents were affected.
