A motorist fatally injured in a two-vehicle wreck on the north end of San Jacinto was identified Tuesday as a 37-year-old Hemet man.
Nathan Diaz was killed in the collision about 1 a.m. Monday on the Ramona Expressway, just west of San Jacinto Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Diaz was driving one of the sedans that impacted at the location, though the circumstances remain unclear, according to Sgt. Patrick Lynch.
He said that the Hemet resident and the other motorist were left trapped inside the wreckage. County fire personnel extricated the victims, who were the only occupants of the two vehicles, a short time later.
Both were taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where Diaz died three hours later. The other victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was in serious condition Monday afternoon, Lynch said.
