Authorities Thursday appealed for the public’s help to find the hit-and-run motorist involved in the death of a man in the Westlake area.

Kyle Ray, 32, of Los Angeles was injured about 7:25 p.m. Jan. 23 at Sixth and Bonnie Brae streets, and he died at the scene, said Los Angeles police Detective Juan Campos of the Central Traffic Division.

“Ray was possibly in medical distress and passed out in the westbound (No. 2) lane of 6th Street, west of Bonnie Brae,” Campos said in a statement. “A blue Dodge Ram truck traveling westbound 6th Street ran over Ray and dragged him 20 feet. The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid and identify him or herself.”

The driver, possibly a male, was driving a blue 2007-2013 Dodge Ram pickup with custom lights and rims, and the bed of the truck was equipped with a rack.

A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit and run.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to contact Investigator G. Diaz at 213-486-0767 or via e-mail at 36160@lapd.online.
