Police located a man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon after he crashed a vehicle into two cars, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred at 11:37 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of East Washington Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.
The patient was in critical condition. He was trapped in one vehicle and was freed by firefighters using hydraulic tools before taken to a hospital, Prange said.
At least two other patients were evaluated but found to have minor injuries, he said. They were not taken to hospitals.
The LAFD initially reported the crash was at the end of a police pursuit, but Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section said officers were looking for the man in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon before the crash.
