A man’s body was found Wednesday in the Los Angeles River bed in Vernon, prompting a homicide investigation.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives responded to the 4900 block of District Boulevard at around 2:10 p.m. to assist the Vernon Police Department with a death investigation in the river bed, sheriff’s officials said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information was immediately available, including a possible cause of death.
