A man and a woman were arrested Saturday on suspicion of robbery and physical elder abuse in Indio, authorities said.

The alleged crimes happened at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday in the 84200 block of Indio Springs Parkway, where the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of the robbery of a 69-year-old man.

Authorities said the victim was assaulted and robbed by a man and woman, and was punched and shocked with a stun gun as his belongings were taken.

The victim suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment before being released from the scene.

The female suspect was identified as Brooke Prentiss, 36, and the male suspect was identified as Morgan Styre, 27, both residents of Sonora.

On Saturday, the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department located the suspects’ vehicle in Holtville. Prentiss and Styre were subsequently taken into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s department.

Investigators from the RCSD’s Thermal station responded to Holtville and took possession of Prentiss and Styre.

The victim’s property was recovered and the suspects were booked at the John Benoit Detention center, sheriff’s officials said. Prentiss was arrested on suspicion of robbery and physical elder abuse while Styre was arrested on suspicion of robbery, physical elder abuse and violation of parole, according to the sheriff’s department.
