Firefighters battling an attic fire discovered the body of a person inside a one-story home in La Puente, authorities said Sunday.
Firefighters dispatched at 4:46 p.m. Saturday to 445 S. Waringwood Road had the blaze out at 5:13 p.m., according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
It was not immediately known where the body was found inside the home, she said. The victim’s gender was not immediately known either.
The name of the decedent will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
