Twenty-two drivers were cited for operating a motor vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license driver’s license during a license check/driving under the influence operation in Pomona, authorities said Saturday.

In addition to the cited drivers, seven vehicles out of the 677 vehicles stopped during the checkpoint were towed, said the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau.

The checkpoint was held at Garey and Lexington avenues between 9 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.

In 2021, the department investigated 135 DUI collisions that resulted in two deaths and injured 48 people.
