A fire damaged an apartment building in Panorama City Thursday, and two people were treated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters sent to the 9000 block of North Cedros Avenue at 12:24 p.m. extinguished the flames in 23 minutes, said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Firefighters found fire in one unoccupied unit of a two-story garden-style apartment building,” Prange said.
“Smoke was making its way into adjacent units and forcing residents to shelter on their exterior balconies,” Prange said. “Firefighters simultaneously made entry to the fire unit with hose lines, as others ascended ladders to the roof to provide vertical ventilation.”
Two people were treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation, he said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
