A suspect who barricaded himself inside a home in Claremont for several hours was arrested Friday for child endangerment and other charges.

Officers responded to the 100 block of El Camino Way at around 7:15 a.m. Friday to reports of a family dispute, according to the Claremont Police Department.

The victims were safely removed from the residence, but Jorge Gonzalez-Borda, 38, refused to leave the home and barricaded himself inside, police said.

“Due to the nature of the crime, the Foothills Special Enforcement Team (FSET) responded to assist in the apprehension of the barricaded suspect,” Claremont police said in a statement.

After several hours of negotiations, Gonzalez-Borda exited the residence at around 1 p.m. and surrendered to officers, according to police.

Gonzalez-Borda was arrested and booked at the Claremont Police Department for criminal threats, child endangerment, and resisting/delaying an officer.

His bail was set at $250,000, and he is due to appear at the Pomona Superior Court on May 9, according to police.
