A man was killed Saturday evening in a two-car collision on the Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park.
The crash occurred about 8:50 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway just south of Colorado Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol Officer A. Delos Reyes.
The man, believed in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
Details about the collision were not available.
The CHP issued a SigAlert shutting down the right three northbound lanes in the crash area, Delos Reyes said.
