An exhausted male hiker in the Hansen Dam Recreation Area was hoisted to safety Thursday.
Park rangers and Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the 11000 block of Wentworth Street, south of the Tujunga Wash, to a report of an exhausted hiker in thick brush in a remote section of the recreation area, according to department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
An LAFD flight paramedic was lowered to the hiker, whose age was not provided, and completed an assessment before hoisting him into the helicopter. He declined transportation to a hospital.
