Police Wednesday were in a standoff with a man who fled into a residence after a brief chase in a stolen vehicle through the Venice area.
The pursuit led to the area of Thatcher Avenue and Marina Pointe Drive, near Marina del Rey, where the man got out of the vehicle and went into the residence about 11:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
People were kept away from the area, and the standoff was continuing more than two hours later.
