Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were working Tuesday to apprehend a barricaded suspect in Lancaster.
Deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. to the 1300 block of East Avenue I on a report of a barricaded suspect, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. It was unclear what prompted the man to barricade himself, or if the suspect might be armed.
The sheriff’s Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Enforcement Bureau — the equivalent of a SWAT team — were both dispatched to the scene.
The standoff was continuing early Tuesday evening.
