The Inglewood Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.
The site of the checkpoint was not disclosed. The locations of DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes, according to acting Inglewood Police Department Chief Cardell Hurt.
The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road, Hurt said.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Hurt said. “The reduction of impaired drivers on our roads can significantly improve traffic safety.”
