A fire in a first-floor unit of a two-story garden-style apartment in Boyle Heights was extinguished in 12 minutes by 22 firefighters Friday evening with no injuries reported.
The fire in the 2300 block of East First Street, between Breed and Soto streets, was reported at 7:15 p.m., according to Nicholas Prange with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
