Police Friday were investigating the stabbing of a man in Long Beach.
The stabbing happened around 5 p.m. Thursday in the area of Seaside and Atlantic ways, according to Long Beach police.
The victim was stabbed in the upper chest. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound, police said.
He told police his girlfriend was arguing with a man and when he intervened, a fight broke out.
The suspect fled on foot and remains at large. A description was unavailable.
