A doublewide mobile home erupted in flames Thursday in Good Hope, with fire spreading throughout the residence and threatening surrounding vegetation.
The blaze was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the 23200 block of Mapes Road, near Sophie Court, in the unincorporated community just southwest of Perris, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered “heavy fire” in the structure, from which the occupant escaped with her cats.
It was unclear whether the woman was injured.
Firefighters established a defensive perimeter to prevent the flames from extending into thick vegetation on all sides of the residence, according to officials.
There was no immediate word on what might have triggered the blaze.
