Four people were arrested during a multi-station traffic operation conducted in an effort to combat the major injury and fatal traffic collisions in Moreno Valley.
The operation was hosted by the Moreno Valley sheriff’s station from 6 a.m. to noon Wednesday, according to Sgt. Jared Hansen of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
“The goal of the operation was to educate motorists and residents of Moreno Valley and to help prevent traffic collisions,” Hansen wrote in a statement. “To complete this goal, high visibility enforcement was conducted throughout Moreno Valley.”
Hansen said that education and enforcement traffic stops were conducted by over 20 Motorcycle Enforcement, Commercial Enforcement, Accident Investigators and Community Service Officers deployed within the city.
Ultimately, four people were arrested — one each for DUI, being a felon in possession of ammunition, a felony warrant and domestic violence, according to Hansen. The operation also yielded 15 commercial citations, 27 parking citations, 117 vehicle code violations and one towed vehicle.
The Moreno Valley sheriff’s station expects to continue similar operations in the future to help reduce collisions that impact the city and people involved in them, Hansen said.
