Firefighters contained a small fire Sunday that charred about two acres of brush in Elysian Park.

The blaze began at 1381 Broadway around 2:55 p.m. and burned uphill, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The department dispatched 48 firefighters to the scene. The flames were contained in 51 minutes, Stewart said.

No injuries were reported and the radio tower in the area was successfully defended, she said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
