Firefighters stopped the forward progress of a one-acre brush fire in Duarte Thursday.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched at around 6:53 p.m. to the 100 block of Westvale Road to a brush fire that burned approximately one acre, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman.
Fire crews stopped the fire’s forward progress shortly after 7:35 p.m. According to a statement from the City of Duarte, two homes reportedly were evacuated and Encanto Park was closed due to fire helicopters refueling in the area.
There are no reports of any injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
