Working jointly on a brush fire near the Angeles National Forest, firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department quickly extinguished it Friday near Lake View Terrace.
Fire crews responded at 12:24 a.m. to 12737 Lopez Canyon Road, west of the national forest to an alarm and found a quarter-acre of medium-to-heavy brush burning uphill with light wind, said LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange .
Working with county firefighters, 16 LAFD firefighters halted the forward progress of the flames and put out the fire in 28 minutes.
Prange said crews will remain on the scene to continue to monitor hot spots in the burned area and to fortify perimeter lines.
No injuries were reported.
