A fire heavily damaged a single-story commercial building in La Crescenta Wednesday, and one firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the blaze.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fire was reported around 3:35 p.m. in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Ramsdell Avenue.
At least 65 firefighters were dispatched to the fire, which quickly went to a second alarm and forced crews into a defensive mode, pouring water on the blaze from the exterior.
Crews gained the upper hand on the blaze within about 30 minutes, allowing firefighters to again move inside the structure to fully douse the flames. Fire crews confirmed at around 4:50 p.m. that the fire had been knocked down.
According to the county fire department, one firefighter suffered an unspecified minor injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
