After batting a fire with intense heat at a single-family home, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze Saturday in North Hollywood.

Fire crews were called at approximately 1:44 a.m. to 11630 W. Vanowen St. east of Lankershim Boulevard where they found the fire with heavy flames showing that exposed a neighboring commercial building to the heat, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

It took 49 firefighters 21 minutes to put out the blaze.

Damage to the commercial building was limited, Prange said.

No injuries were reported.
