A person riding a bicycle was severely injured after colliding with a vehicle in Moreno Valley, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Moreno Valley station responded to a major-injury traffic collision call on Box Springs Road at Pine Cone Lane at 9 p.m. Friday.
Authorities say the bicycle was traveling eastbound on Box Springs Road when it crossed into opposing lanes of traffic and crashed head-on with a 2006 Honda Civic.
The driver was not injured, and remained on the scene to cooperate with authorities, the sheriff’s department said.
Paramedics took the bicyclist to a hospital, where the victim was in critical condition.
