Police Tuesday are investigating a fatal collision that killed a 35-year-old homeless man in Garden Grove.
Officers from the Garden Grove Police Department were called to the intersection of Clinton Street and Westminster Avenue regarding a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, said Sgt. Royce Wimmer.
During a preliminary investigation of the crash, investigators learned the pedestrian was crossing from the north curb to the south curb of Westminster, out of the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle, Wimmer said.
Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority responded and took the pedestrian to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver was cooperative and drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision, police said.
